Air Show
Both the Saturday and Sunday Air Shows featured spectacular aerobatics, flybys and a heritage flyby of a P-51 and an F-15, along with precision parachute demonstrations by the U.S. Army's Golden Knights "Black" team.
Thunderbird Crash
The U.S.A.F. Thunderbirds were scheduled to be the final
performance of the Sunday show. Unfortunately during the first maneuver by
Thunderbird 6, the aircraft crashed. The pilot ejected less than 1/2
second before the plane hit the ground and survived with minor injuries.
This brought the Air Show to a premature if not spectacular end with an
unplanned demonstration of Air Force firefighting capability.
